India Jazz is a professional vocalist and performer from Newcastle, Australia. She made her start at Hunter School of the Performing Arts with majors in dance and music, and for the last 10 years has been performing as an original artist.
India completed her Bachelor of Music Degree at The University of Newcastle Conservatorium in 2021, earning a College Medal in Human and Social Futures and now works privately as a vocal coach. India then founded Bubblegum Jukebox in 2024; a kids creative holiday program that runs in Newcastle as an opportunity for students to learn performance skills.
Stepping into the musical theatre world in 2024, India made her debut performance in What Theatre Co's production of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, shortly followed by The Very Popular Theatre Company’s shows MYSTERY MUSICAL and MAMMA MIA! in 2025. Moving forward India plans to continue working as a private vocal coach while broadening her skill set in musical theatre, songwriting and entrepreneurship.

WELL?
Somewhere between the pop sensibilities of Paramore & Linkin Park, the heavy world of Dillenger & Rage Against the Machine, & Jazz Fusion behemoth Herbie Hancock, lies Altrock group WELL? India Jazz, Andrew Gray & Taylan Bragg’s worlds only collided through geography & principles alone. But that was enough to launch the songwriting trio’s ambition, though much fastidious & arduous work, into a sound of their own.
2021 - 2024
India and the Journey to the East
Featuring India Seddon-Callaghan as lead vocalist and songwriter, this indie-rock band was formed in 2018 and disbanded 2020. They first started with lead guitarist Anthony Buckingham, bassist Alex McWhirter and drummer Cameron Brownell. Later in 2019 Taylan Bragg joined as the new lead guitarist. Throughout their time as a band they released 3 singles and 1 EP titled - The Sun The Moon The Truth. Newcastle Herald Article here.
Collaborations
During her time at Newcastle’s Conservatorium of Music India has collaborated with many musicians including Darcy Archer from La Luna. In June 2021 they performed a cover of ‘The Hill’ by Marketa Irglova and an original by India called ‘Breathing in your skin’ (video below).
Viragos
During the Covid-19 lockdown in Australia, India formed a funk-pop band with a close group of friends, featuring Alex McWhirter from India and the Journey to the East and Bree Young from Bindi Duo. Viragos won the 2020 UON Band competition, taking home a prize worth $2000. After headlining several sold out shows in Newcastle they played Dashville’s end of year festival ‘A Fresh Start’. Unfortunately the band broke up in 2021 before the awaited release of their first single ‘Mother’.
